Bubup Wilam Aboriginal Child & Family Centre Landscaping Project

About Bubup Wilam landscaping project

ecoDynamics VIC Landscaping delivered a new Yarning Circle for the City of Whittlesea community. Its a special project that weaves Indigenous cultural practices into the heart of the landscape.

The Bubup Wilam Aboriginal Child and Family Centre opened in 2012. Its aim was to meet the need for an improved facility for the Aboriginal community in Melbourne’s northern suburb of Thomastown. The centre evokes a strong sense of community identity and belonging, that in turn supports a secure and nurturing environment with thoughtfully integrated indoor and outdoor spaces.

A new yarning circle for cultural connection

Our team was proud to complete the Bubup Wilam Yarning Circle project. They contributed to creating a dedicated space for children and the wider community to gather, share stories, and learn from Traditional Owners.

The new outdoor learning space supports the passing on of cultural knowledge, practices, and values to future generations. This helps children foster connection to Country and community. Our team worked closely and respectfully with council representatives and community stakeholders ensuring the landscape design and project delivery honoured Indigenous cultural values and principles.
