Water Pipeline Sand Slinging Project

About the new water pipeline sand slinging project

Riverina Water engaged ecoDynamics NSW Landscaping to address the significant task of backfilling 45km of water pipeline trenches with sand. The project aims to lay water pipes to provide the nearby towns with a reliable water supply. While Riverina Water used a trencher to create the pipeline, the nSW teams was tasked with following closely behind to backfill the trenches with our innovative solution.

The primary challenge was to identify a method that could efficiently and economically backfill the trenches without compromising environmental standards. Traditional methods were either too slow or failed to meet environmental requirements. We proposed an innovative solution: using a slinger truck to streamline the backfilling process. This approach not only increased efficiency but also ensured that environmental considerations were fully addressed.

    Our slinger truck in action

Using our slinger truck to backfill sand into the water pipe trench offered significant advantages over traditional methods.

This innovative approach enhanced efficiency by accurately distributing sand with its conveyor belt, reducing both costs and environmental impact. Additionally, this approach improved safety, especially in the challenging terrain by minimising the need for heavy machinery and manual labour.

Scope of work

  • Backfilling 45km of trenches with sand.

ecoDynamics’ deployment of the slinger truck exemplified innovation in environmental project management. This approach provided the client Riverina Water with a sustainable solution to the trench backfilling challenge. By integrating advanced technology, the project not only met but exceeded expectations, setting a new standard for future projects in promoting greener practices.
