The Living Pavilion
The Living Pavilion was envisioned as a recyclable, biodegradable, edible and biodiverse event space that celebrates Indigenous knowledge systems, ecological science and sustainable design through participatory arts practice.
- Run as part of University of Melbourne’s RAP, we recreated a lost landscape by temporarily installing 40,000 indigenous plants on Wurundjeri Country at the University’s Parkville campus.
- Plants were chosen to showcase the unique ecologies of the Kulin Nations.
- The plants used in the installation were subsequently installed on the Thompsons Road upgrade, a Major Roads Projects Victoria initiative.
- The Living Pavilion has been nominated for an AILA VIC Award 2020.
