About us

four ecoDynamics workers walking towards the camera. They're all smiling which shows that they love working for us.

Our story

ecoDynamics creates sustainable landscapes. Since 1989, we’ve supplied and installed landscape construction materials across Victoria, South Australia, and New South Wales. We’ve made spaces beautiful, naturally.

We work on big infrastructure projects — universities, train stations, town squares and freeways. You’ve probably seen us; we’re the ones by the side of the road, high viz covered in dirt, heads together, talking soil, erosion and native grasses. We’re sharing the joys of working outdoors and doing what we love.

You’ll also find us working on smaller, more intimate projects, creating beautiful memorials and nurturing wetlands. No matter the size of the space — we dig in and get the job done.

Our history

We started with three mates setting up a business to spray weeds and mow parks in 1989. Our purpose was to provide good jobs for three people doing jobs around Melbourne’s Werribee and Point Cook areas.

As we entered the early 90s, we started getting into road projects, which helped us expand beyond mowing. We worked with various landscaping materials, such as mulch, and in 2000, we bought the mulch business. We also established our first nursery to grow plants we needed for our jobs. At this stage, we were growing and providing jobs for 20 people.

We continued doing smaller road projects until 2007 when we won the Eastlink project in Victoria. It was the turning point project and helped us grow into the business we are today.

Over the next five years, we continued to grow to over 100 employees and expanded our landscaping to South Australia. The next big step was in 2016, when we acquired our blowing business and expanded into New South Wales. We now have over 150 employees in three states.

Even though we’ve grown a lot, we’ve always prioritised people and committed to creating greener futures.

What we do

We love the dirty work. From massive roadside landscaping projects to smaller undertakings, we generate greener spaces.

We’re happiest growing plants, creating materials and installing landscapes across vast expanses of the country. Our horticulturists work with soil scientists and other experts to create the highest quality products. And we nurture native plants from sow to grow.

Sometimes we’re on board early, but we’re always the last to leave. We share advice and our expertise on reducing delays, costs and environmental impacts. And after the engineers pack up, we provide the finishing touches — a final sweep — before nature does its magic.

We’re creating a greener future by delivering long-term value to our clients, our people, our suppliers, the community and the planet.

Why we do it

We care about the legacy we leave behind. We’re thinking about a time in the future when we’ll walk through our landscapes and see how they’ve flourished. We’ll show our kids and feel a deep sense of achievement. This is what drives us to create beautiful and enduring environments.

We let nothing go to waste, and recycling is at the heart of our commitment to a greener world. Over the past two years, we’ve recycled 150,000 cubic metres of timber each year. That’s about 11,000 truckloads that would have become landfill.

We also care about our employees; we draw people from diverse backgrounds, from trainees to mature-agers who all share a love of nature. We’re proud of our inclusive and nurturing culture that appeals to women looking for a better work/life balance. We’re also known for our flexible working arrangements, so our people can pursue studies, support their families and look after themselves.

How we do it

Our business incorporates everything you need under one roof. We’ve refined our supply chains by doing it all, leaving nothing to chance. We have the gear and the people to cover large areas fast. And we have the specialist equipment to access hard-to-reach places — to go where others can’t.

It must be done right; compliance is everything, and our meticulous team ensures every project meets construction and safety standards. We’re always looking for better, safer and more efficient ways to improve our work. We never cut corners; we create landscapes that last, and we all go home safely at the end of the day.

Before we start a project, we talk at length to understand any challenges and align expectations with your budget. We provide advice that leads to better planning and execution as well as cost-saving suggestions on alternative products. Once we’re rolling, we keep you informed every step of the way. We work quickly and transparently so you know your project is on brief and on track.

ISO certification

ISO 14001 is vital for managing Environmental Management Systems worldwide. It helps organisations reduce their environmental impact, conserve resources, and improve performance. Obtaining ISO 14001 accreditation and our EMS helps improve our planet.
