Albion Park Rail Bypass Landscaping Project

ecoDynamics NSW transformed the Albion Park Rail Bypass with 52ha of hydroseeding, 15ha of native seeding, and innovative erosion control. A $500K saving and early completion showcase our expertise in infrastructure landscaping.

About the Albion Park Rail Bypass hydromulching project

The Albion Park Rail Bypass is a 9.8 km extension of the Princes Motorway on the NSW South Coast—designed to improve traffic flow, reduce congestion, and enhance road safety. ecoDynamics partnered with Fulton Hogan and Transport for NSW to deliver the landscaping and revegetation package between 2019 and 2021.

Scope of works

  • 15 hectares of native direct seeding
  • 52 hectares of hydroseeding and hydromulching
  • Drain stabilisation using Flexterra® for erosion control
  • Application of biotic soil media on steep batters
  • Turf installation across high-profile interchange zones
  • 3 years post-construction maintenance.

Innovation and impact

Working collaboratively with the project team, the NSW Landscpaing team proposed a tailored erosion control approach at Frasers Creek, resulting in a $500K cost saving and significant environmental benefits. With proactive scheduling, our hydroseeding teams and trucks were ready to respond to site demands—helping accelerate delivery and ensuring all landscaping was completed ahead of time.

    Soundwall Hydromulching

ecoDynamics also used specialist products to stabilise the steep soundwall batters and open drainage systems at Albion Park Rail Bypass.

This critical work required reliable, high-performance solutions to address erosion risks, ensure rapid seed germination, and promote sustainable, long-term vegetation growth in highly variable soil conditions.
