Caulfield to Dandenong (Skyrail) Level Crossing Removal

The Caulfield to Dandenong Level Crossing Removal (LCR) Project

ecoDynamics constructed new parkways for the local community as part of the State Government’s Caulfield to Dandenong Level Crossing Removal Project.

This innovative project removed nine level crossings between Caulfield and Dandenong and created 5km of new linear parks in the previous railway track space.

Innovative landscape design creates a new public realm

The elevation of the Caulfield to Dandenong railway line, dubbed Skyrail, has created an entirely new public realm.

In a space once dedicated to railway tracks, elevating the line has not only resulted in halving traffic congestion times, but has opened 11 football fields worth of space and created 17km of new walking and cycling paths.

Hard scaping and soft scaping skills prove vital at the Caulfield to Dandenong LCR project

Our Vic team was contracted to build sections 1B, 2 and 3 of the linear parks beneath Skyrail, creating vital new public spaces.

ecoDynamics built approximately 5km of new parklands, including planting indigenous seedlings and mature trees, hydroseeding, hardscaping and earthworks.

We’re all about safety first, and then we dive into the puzzle of working around the complex infrastructure.

We’re the team you call if you want landscaping within a live rail environment.
