As part of the Western Program Alliance, we were engaged by Wamarra to undertake the landscaping work on the Hoppers Crossing Level Crossing Removal Project.
Under the Western Program Alliance’s (WPA), Hoppers Crossing Level Crossing Removal plan, the requirement was to ensure that for each tree removed, two new trees would be planted in its place. To fulfil this commitment, our landscaping team worked closely with our Victorian Nursery to propagate a diverse selection of plants, shrubs, and grasses, ensuring that we met the environmental and aesthetic goals of the level crossing removal plan.
Our nursery was responsible for growing the majority of the plants need for the project, and outsourced Swale for the hybrid varieties. At both ends of the pedestrian overpass, we designed and landscaped the new plaza areas, incorporating a diverse mix of native an exotic plant species. This section included drought-tolerant plants such as Lomandra, Poa and Carex. These species were chosen for their ability to thrive in local conditions and their contribution to the visual appeal of the surrounding area.
Woody Meadow Project
As part of the Old Geelong Road, Hoppers Crossing Level Crossing Removal Project, ecoDynamics collaborated with The University of Melbourne to create the Woody Meadows for the new station. During the soft landscaping phase of the project, Melbourne University and Wyndham City Council engaged our team, under the West Program Alliance (WPA), to help bring to life the Woody Meadows.
