A boom is used by Ecodynamics to lift blower hoses to a level 1 building for sand and mulch.
On behalf of City of Melbourne, our client Programmed Property Services approached Ecodynamics with a difficult project. The playground and sandpit at the Docklands Child Care Centre that Programmed Property Services was working on needed to be mulched and filled with sand. The Center’s location on a level 1 building was a problem because we had to find a way to bring mulch and sand in while overcoming a height barrier.
We were able to supply both mulch and sand using our large blower trucks.
The challenging element, however, was getting the hoses into the level 1 Building Centre.
Our blower truck hoses were supported by the crane boom, a lengthy fixed or hydraulic arm used in construction to carry huge things. The boom also assisted in preventing the hose from touching the building’s façade.
Getting this boom in with our large blower truck and sand tanker was yet another significant obstacle. We had to close the road and implement full traffic management because the location is in a busy area of Docklands.
Our Scope:
- 12m3 of Softfall Mulch carried and blown from a blower truck
- 6.5m3 of Kiln Dried Sand carried and blown from a sand tanker
