Wandandian Creek Landscaping Project
ecoDynamics NSW partnered with Shoalhaven City Council to restore the fire- and flood-damaged banks of Wandandian Creek. The project included safe access construction, erosion control, native revegetation, and a tailored maintenance program to ensure long-term environmental recovery.
About the Wandandian Creek landscaping project
Located east of the Princes Highway bridge at Wandandian, the northern bank of Wandandian Creek had experienced significant erosion—worsened by the 2019–2020 bushfires and subsequent flooding. In response, Shoalhaven City Council launched urgent restoration works to stabilise the creek and prevent further environmental damage.
ecoDynamics NSW Landscaping was engaged to deliver critical erosion control, safe access, and revegetation works on this environmentally sensitive and challenging site.
Creating safe access through natural terrain
To support efficient and low-impact access for restoration work, our team modified and extended the existing track network:
- Constructed a new 225-metre access track through native vegetation
- Widened and maintained an existing 300-metre track
- Ensured all routes complied with safety standards while minimising disruption to surrounding flora.
creating Greener futures
The Wandandian Creek project was a vital step in restoring ecological function and protecting local waterways. By stabilising eroded creek banks and reintroducing native vegetation, ecoDynamics has helped reduce sediment runoff, improve water clarity, and enhance habitat for aquatic and riparian wildlife.
Through practical, environmentally sensitive solutions, this project strengthens long-term landscape resilience—supporting healthier ecosystems and a greener future for the Shoalhaven region.
