RUOK? Day – I’m here to hear
This RUOK? Day, we’re reminded that asking the question is just the start. The 2025 theme, “I’m Here to Hear,” calls on all of us to go beyond a simple “Are you OK?” — to slow down, listen with care, and create space for honest conversations.
Why this matters
Research shows that while one in three Australians have been asked “Are you OK?” more often over the past year — they only feel truly supported when the question is genuine and followed by real listening (ruok.org.au).
Yet nearly 40% admit to replying “I’m fine” when they weren’t — a powerful reminder of why safe, judgement-free conversations matter.
How ecoDynamics is supporting the message
At ecoDynamics, we believe mental health is just as important as physical safety. That’s why on RUOK? Day — and every day — we encourage our teams, clients, and community to:
Pause with purpose
Take a moment during meetings or site visits to not only ask, “Are you OK?” but to let others know, “I’m here to hear.”
Create safe spaces
Whether it’s on-site, in the office, or over the phone, give people the time and privacy to share how they’re really going.
Follow up
If someone says they’re not OK, check in again later. It shows you care, builds trust, and can make a real difference.
Share the message
Use the hashtag #HereToHear on social media to help spread awareness and normalise open conversations about mental health.
