Mooroolbark LCRP Landscaping Project

ecoDynamics VIC Landscaping delivered the Mooroolbark Level Crossing Removal project, blending native planting, Coldstream stone, and bioretention swales to create a welcoming, sustainable space for the community.

About the Mooroolbark Level Crossing Removal landscaping project

Wamarra engaged ecoDynamics VIC Landscaping to deliver landscaping works as part of the South-East Program Alliance (SEPA) for the removal of the Mooroolbark Level Crossing on Manchester Road.

The project team collaborated on an urban design vision that embraced softer, earthier tones to reflect Mooroolbark’s low-rise, leafy character while strengthening the connection between the new station and Red Earth Community Park.

  • Landscaping vision comes to life

Our VIC landscaping team brought this vision to life despite complex site conditions, working carefully to ensure the space would be accessible, welcoming, and enjoyable for the community.

We prioritised planting indigenous species to honour the local environment and character. The new Mooroolbark Station design features Coldstream stone and metal cladding, acknowledging the area’s agricultural heritage and rural connections.

Following community feedback calling for more gathering spaces, the station now includes Coldstream stone seating areas, inviting both travellers and locals to pause, relax, and connect.

Scope of work

  • Mulch supply and installation
  • Plant installation featuring native species
  • Log installations for natural play and habitat features
  • Construction of bioretention swales for sustainable water management.
