About the Woody Meadow landscaping project
As part of the Hoppers Crossing Level Crossing Removal Project (LCRP), ecoDynamics proudly partnered with The University of Melbourne and Wyndham City Council to deliver an innovative Woody Meadow garden at the new station.
During the project’s soft landscaping phase, our team worked under the West Program Alliance (WPA) to help bring this unique planting concept to life.

- 400m2 of Scorriat growing medium (a type of soil-less medium)
- Low waste growing mediums used in rooftop gardens to promote sustainability.
About the Woody Meadows
What are the Woody Meadow?
The Woody Meadow is a low-maintenance public landscape that showcases naturalistic Australian shrub plantings. We selected plants for their abundant flowering, aesthetic appeal, and resilience, which enhances floral displays and extends the plants’ lifespan. To minimise maintenance needs every two to four years, we increased plant density and employed coppicing techniques. These methods help maintain a dense canopy, suppress weeds, and encourage continuous flowering.
