Nar Nar Goon Carpark Level Crossing Removal Landscaping Project

ecoDynamics completed landscaping works at Nar Nar Goon Station as part of the Victorian Government’s Car Parks for Commuters Program. The upgrade delivered 966m² of garden beds, 577m² of swales, 26 new trees, nearly 6,000 plants, and 404m² of hydroseeding. These works improve biodiversity, stormwater management, and urban cooling—creating a safer, greener, and more welcoming space for commuters and the community.

About the Nar Nar Goon Carpark Rail Landscaping project

As part of the Victorian Government’s Car Parks for Commuters Program, Nar Nar Goon Station has undergone a significant upgrade to enhance accessibility, safety, and commuter convenience. The Nar Nar Goon Rail Landscaping Project includes the construction of 50 new parking spaces, easing congestion on surrounding streets and making it safer and simpler for passengers to access train services.

In addition to improved lighting and CCTV for enhanced safety, the project includes extensive landscaping works aimed at improving the amenity and environmental value of the station precinct. The new green spaces will create a more pleasant commuter experience while contributing to the area’s biodiversity and stormwater management.

  • Scope of work

    • 966m2 garden bed installation (including topsoil and mulch)
    • 577m2 topsoil and jute mat swale installation
    • 26x 45L trees planted
    • 5,900 grasses and shrubs planted
    • 404m2 hydroseeding applied.

Impact on the environment

These works go beyond aesthetics — they form part of a broader commitment to building greener, more sustainable communities. By increasing urban vegetation, enhancing biodiversity, and improving stormwater management, this project is helping to create healthier, cooler, and more climate-resilient public spaces. It’s a practical investment in greener futures for both people and the planet.
