Frasers Property Australia is setting a new benchmark in sustainability with the Burwood Brickworks, aiming to become the world’s most sustainable retail centre.
At the heart of this visionary project is a striking 2,000 m² rooftop urban farm and dining precinct, designed to deliver fresh, on-site produce. It will feature ‘acre’ – a farm-to-table café and bar set within the rooftop farm, with dishes created directly from on-site harvests.
The space is designed for genuine community engagement, with plans for cooking classes, farm tours, harvest events, preserving workshops, and markets to educate visitors on best-practice farming and sustainable living.

To bring this rooftop farm vision to life, Hacer engaged ecoDynamics Services to install 145 m³ of specialty soil into the rooftop garden beds over just two days. Our client specified Fulton’s Rooflite Extensive Blend, which we sourced and blew directly into the raised beds efficiently.

- Moving bulk soil up to a rooftop site demands smart planning and safe logistics
- We deployed our slinger truck to continually reload the blower truck on-site without having to dismantle hoses for blower topup
- This approach allowed for uninterrupted blowing, maximising speed and minimising downtime.
