About the Uno Apartments soil blowing project

Julian McCarthy Landscapes engaged ecoDynamics Services to install soil to Uno Apartments.

Uno is a landmark 65-storey residential tower in the heart of the Melbourne CBD, close to Queen Victoria Market and major universities. On Level 9, residents enjoy premium facilities including gym, pool areas, steam/sauna rooms, and beautifully landscaped spaces that create a sense of tranquility above the city.

    This project demonstrates our team’s ability to get blower truck hoses to significant heights and deliver bulk materials cleanly, efficiently, and safely—even in complex city environments. Scope of work

Deliver and install 25 m³ of Premium Planter Mix on Level 9 for landscaped areas.

Challenging site

Delivering bulk soil to Level 9 of a high-rise building in Melbourne’s busy CBD. This project also demanded careful planning to work around heritage facades, tight urban access, and height restrictions.

Crane solution

We used two counterweighted floor cranes to navigate over the heritage façade to safely lift materials up. The process involved a two-stage lift – first to Level 2, then further inward and upward to Level 9. Once in position, our blower trucks utilised long, flexible hoses to move the planter mix and place precisely to the landscaped areas on Level 9. The project was delivered over two days—setup on day 1, and soil blowing on day 2.
