Epping Road Upgrade Landscaping Project

About the Epping Road Upgrade landscaping project

The Epping Road Upgrade involves the duplication of Epping Road from Craigieburn Road East to Memorial Drive, improving transport efficiency and safety for one of Melbourne’s fastest-growing northern corridors.

ecoDynamics was engaged by MCD to deliver large-scale landscaping and environmental works across the project, selected for our proven capability in integrated landscape construction, nursery supply, and specialist equipment services. Our local expertise, combined with the ability to coordinate end-to-end delivery — from sourcing seed to final planting and maintenance — positioned us as the ideal partner for this complex infrastructure upgrade.

Scope of work

ecoDynamics provided a complete landscaping solution for the Epping Road Upgrade, combining material supply, specialist services, and installation across the project corridor. Our work included:

  • Plant and tree supply: Over 30,000 plants and 300+ mature trees, including a 400L feature tree, grown and supplied from ecoDynamics’ nursery.
  • Landscaping materials: Supply and application of mulch for garden beds, scoria, granitic sand, and seed for all grassed areas.
  • Specialist equipment services: Use of slinger and blower trucks for precise placement of mulch, soil, and plants across challenging terrain.
  • Installation and construction: Full planting, mulching, and landscaping works coordinated alongside multiple contractors to ensure seamless integration with the road duplication project.
  • Maintenance & establishment: Ongoing program during construction including tree inspections, mowing, brushcutting, weed control, and seasonal watering to ensure long-term landscape success.

This integrated approach allowed ecoDynamics to deliver high-quality landscaping at scale, ensuring efficiency, environmental integrity, and lasting community impact.

  • Team insights

“A personal challenge for me was working for the first time on a major project — coordinating the different areas as they became ready. Managing multiple engineers, supervisors, and leading hands to stay proactive with the resources we had was a great learning experience. I also coordinated mulch blowing, planters, and tree deliveries to keep everything running smoothly.”

Outcome

A detailed maintenance program was implemented during construction to ensure all landscaping elements remained healthy and well-established. This included tree stock inspections, mowing, brushcutting, weed spraying, and seasonal watering.

The project exemplifies ecoDynamics’ commitment to long-term landscape performance, supporting greener infrastructure outcomes for the community of Wollert.
