Tonsley Wetlands Landscaping Project

ecoDynamics SA brought nature back into the urban landscape with the Tonsley Wetlands project. By transforming stormwater drainage into a thriving wetland system, the project naturally filters water, supports local biodiversity, and creates habitat for native flora and fauna. Our team also enhanced the surrounding community space with upgraded paths, irrigation, and over 9,500 plants, helping make the precinct greener, more liveable, and environmentally resilient for years to come.

About the Tonsley Wetlands landscaping project

As part of the revitalisation of the Tonsley Innovation District, CATCON (Civil & Allied Technical Construction), in partnership with Renewal SA, engaged ecoDynamics SA Landscaping to deliver the landscaping works for the Tonsley Wetlands.

The project centred on transforming local stormwater drainage into a functional wetland system. This system captures and filters stormwater, treating it naturally before safely returning flows to surrounding reserves. The integration of green infrastructure not only improves water quality but also supports local biodiversity by creating habitat for native flora and fauna in a densely developed area.

The project also included upgrades to the adjacent Tonsley Train Station and enhancements to the existing shared bike path—promoting sustainable transport, increasing accessibility, and further connecting the community to green space.

Together, these works have contributed to a more liveable, environmentally resilient precinct—helping to bring nature back into the urban fabric.
