Our Nursery is growing herb and veggie seedlings for our staff
There’s no doubt times are tough. It’s been 100 years since the last pandemic, and there are very few people left on the planet who remember what it was like last time around.
Life as we know it in the ‘lucky country’ has been turned upside down, and the economic and emotional toll it is taking are enormous.
We wanted to do something through this to support our people, and growing herbs and veggies was a natural fit.
Whilst we’re not known for growing these types of plants, we’re well equipped to do so. We’ve planted a whole range of edible plants that will be distributed to employees across our business in the coming weeks and months.
It is our hope that not only will these seedlings help people to feed their families, but that tending to the plants will help soothe frazzled nerves and provide a sense of hope and purpose in these uncertain times. We’re propagating:
- cauliflower
- broccoli
- chives
- lettuce
- baby cos lettuce
- coriander
- beetroot
- cabbage
- parlsey
- celery
- pak choy
- kale
- oregano
- rosemary
- sage
We’ll update soon with some pictures of handover, planting and some harvest shots.
Special shout out to our incredible Nursery Manager, Jeff Beavis, who was the brain child behind this fantastic initiative. This sort of community spirit is what Ecodynamics is all about, and Jeff embodies that. Well done Jeff!
